Welcome to A Joyful Beginning Doula Services

Hi!  I’m Shasta and I’m a Christian, pro-life, full spectrum doula serving the North Dallas area in Texas!  From fertility to post partum and everything in between, I am here to serve and support you on your journey!  While I have always had a fascination with birth and postpartum, it wasn’t until both of my sisters became pregnant and had their first babies only two and a half months apart that I had any thoughts of becoming a doula myself!  Supporting my sisters during their fourth trimesters and watching them become mothers was incredibly rewarding and I knew I wanted to help other families have a joyful transition into parenthood.

I believe birth doesn’t have to be a fearful or anxious experience.  Families can bring new life into the world, empowered by the knowledge they need to make informed decisions so their birth can have the best possible outcome.  I believe women should have the freedom to choose where and how their child(ren) will be born, without unwanted medical interventions or incomplete information to stir up fear.  Part of my job is to educate parents and support them as they make the best decisions for their family, whatever that may look like, and to help foster an atmosphere of peace and confidence as the birth process plays out.

I believe that the nurture and care of new mothers is just as important as the nurture and care of newborns.  My desire is to show the hands-on, practical love of Jesus to families as they adjust to their new roles during the fourth trimester.  Body, mind, and soul, I want to come alongside families and support them during their season of transition.  My experience and training in inner healing prayer is a powerful tool to bring Jesus into the challenges and joys of day-to-day life, and to grow in relationship with Christ, building the foundation of this new chapter of life on the Rock of Ages! 

I love music, worship and prayer and enjoy spending time in my local House of Prayer, seeking the Lord. In my free time you can find me cooking a meal for my friends, reading, or enjoying a walk outside!
